Our energy modelling team includes Certified Energy Advisors and Professional Engineers. We work closely with all disciplines involved to meet the energy efficiency goals of a project, while understanding the importance of project schedules and budget constraints. We model new and existing buildings, provide pre and post construction services and are happy to help with general energy advice for your project. We work on Commercial and Residential Buildings, Part 3 and Part 9, and use modelling softwares such as eQuest, IES-VE, and HOT2000. We are also BEMP, CMVP and CPHD certified should your project require any additional sign off.

Energy Advisor Services - New Construction and Existing Homes

We provide Energy Advisor Services for New Construction and Existing Homes. Services for new construction include Step Code compliance. Services for existing homes are evaluated under the EnerGuide Rating System (ERS). All Energy Advisor Services include Blower Door tests.


Blower Door Testing - Airtightness Testing

Mid-Construction Testing Mid-construction blower door testing occurs when the air barrier is complete and before drywall or other finishes go up. This provides the opportunity to identify and address any leaks in the building envelope before they become inaccessible. We use smoke testing and visual inspection to find areas of leakage.

Final Testing Final blower door testing must be performed upon completion of a build to confirm Step Code compliance. At this stage we test the building envelope and determine the leakage rate to compare against the associated Step Code target.

Embodied Carbon Analysis

Construction materials can be assessed to determine the carbon footprint associated with raw material supply, transport and manufacturing. We calculate the total carbon emissions for a proposed build and identify areas which would lead to the greatest reduction in emissions by altering materials or quantities.


Passive House Consulting

We offer full Passive House Consulting and PHPP modelling by a Certified Passive House Designer (CPHD).
